Our partnership with Envigo provides access to high quality research models (Lab animals & Diets) to Indian biomedical community to accelerate the research programs and product development. All the lab animals are purpose-bred with known health standards and are genetically stable. Our qualified veterinary team ensures animal welfare and strategize breeding conditions to produce the homogeneous research models that guarantee the reproducibility and reliability of data for the research over time.
Inbred
An inbred strain is a population of animals that result from a process of at least 20 sequential generations of brother–sister mating. The resultant animals are essentially clones of each other at the genetic level.
- BALB/c inbred mice
- C57BL/6 inbred mice
Outbred
An outbred strain is usually maintained as large breeding colonies within which there is inter- individual genetic variation. They are maintained by random mating systems. Each animal will be genetically different, but the extent of genetic variation depends on the parental strain origins of the colony.
- ICR (CD-1®) mice
- NIH Swiss outbred mice
- Wistar Han® rats
- Sprague Dawley® outbred rats
Mutants
A mutant is an organism or a new genetic character arising or resulting from an instance of mutation, which is generally an alteration of the DNA sequence of the genome or chromosome of an organism. It is a characteristic that is not observed naturally in a specimen.
- Athymic nude mice
- SCID/beige mice
- NOD.SCID mice
GEMs
A genetically modified animal is one whose genetic material has been altered by adding, changing, or removing certain DNA sequences in a way that does not occur naturally. This process is carried out to introduce a new trait or change a characteristic such as the disease resistance of an animal.
- Humanized ACE2 (hACE2) knock-in mice
- B-NDG knock-out mice
- Rag2-Il2rg double knock-out mice (R2G2®)
- ApoE knock-out rat
- AHR knock-out rat
Hybrids
A hybrid is the offspring resulting from combining the qualities of two organisms of different breeds, varieties, species or genera through sexual reproduction.
- B6C3F1 hybrid mice
- CD2F1 hybrid mice
